Blog Post: Surprise! Man Proposes to Girlfriend After Skydive

January 31, 2017

Avian Lain knew her first skydive would be exciting and unforgettable.

Little did she know how unforgettable it would become.

On Saturday, January 28 the two arrived at Skydive Suffolk for the big jump, but Travis had a special surprise in his pocket: an engagement ring.

On the plane ride up, Travis proposed to Avian with a candy ring pop. The actual ring was waiting safely back on the ground.

Travis and Avian each did a tandem jump with a Skydive Suffolk professional. When they landed, Travis walked over to Avian for the official proposal — no more ring pop needed!

Travis told us, “I wanted to do a skydiving proposal because I didn’t think anyone had ever done it before.”

Was Avian surprised? You bet! “I had no idea about what Travis was up to,” she said.

Congratulations to the happy couple! Their engagement was even reported by WTKR NewsChannel 3.

Travis and Avian’s marriage proposal kicks off a special promotion at Skydive Suffolk to celebrate Valentine’s Day. You receive a tandem skydive for two, champagne toast, flowers and chocolate for $500. The special runs from Feb 1-28.
