Ready to go solo?

At Skydiving Suffolk, our parachuting — or skydiving — classes are designed to provide a safe and exciting way to experience the thrill of freefalling from thousands of feet in the air. Our student program provides a 25-jump beginner-to-licensed skydiver training progression. Upon completion, you will have met or exceeded the requirements to earn a skydiving license from the United States Parachute Association (USPA).

All of our parachuting instructors are highly experienced and certified by the USPA, ensuring that you receive the highest quality instruction and training. We use state-of-the-art equipment and follow the most up-to-date safety protocols to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable skydiving experience.

Our skydiving training classes include both ground instruction and in-air training, allowing you to learn the necessary skills and techniques before making your first jump. We also offer a variety of training packages to suit your needs, including solo jumps, tandem jumps, and accelerated freefall courses.

Step 1
Ground School

A half day classroom environment course providing you with the knowledge required to safely begin your solo skydiving journey.

Step 2

Level One Tandem Jump

This tandem skydive provides a fantastic training environment to apply the freefall and canopy skills learned in ground school.

Step 3

Level Two Solo Jump

For your Level Two skydive you will be jumping your own parachute system with two instructors alongside you to assist in freefall. After deploying your parachute you will use the knowledge learned in ground school and applied during your Level One Tandem to fly your parachute safely to the ground all on your own (assisted via radio).

Step 4

Complete 25 Skydives

Continue through the Skydive Suffolk Student Program gaining more knowledge and skills each step of the way to meet your USPA A License requirements.

Step 5

USPA A License!

You’re now a licensed skydiver. Jump with other licensed skydivers and continue learning and discovering all of the fun and exciting aspects that skydiving has to offer!

Learn to Skydive – S3 FAQ

How old do I have to be to learn to skydive?

You must be at least 18 years of age to begin the S3P

How many jumps are in the program?

25 successful jumps get you your A license!

How long is the Ground School and when is it offered?

The First Jump typically takes 6-8 hours. Expect to be at the drop zone all day. We do our best to get you on your first jump the same day! We offer the FJC 1-2x a month. Check out our calendar here.

Are there any discounts?

Yes! We offer a military discount on the S3P program. See pricing here.

How long does it take to get a skydiving license?

Highly motivated students have completed the program in less than a week. Most students complete the program over a few months. You can learn and progress at your own pace.

Can I get a video of my jumps?

Yes! Your instructor will have video of each of your jumps. This is helpful to debrief each skydive and to show you what went right and what can be approved on.

I've done a few training jumps at another drop zone or a long time ago. Where would I start in the S3 program?

This is a case by case basis depending on the training program utilized by the previous drop zone and the time span since your last jump. Please contact Skydive Suffolk and our instructors will provide your required specific continued progression.

Is there a weight limit for students in the S3P?

Yes, students must be under 220lbs.

How much does it cost?

My schedule does not allow me to attend one of the scheduled ground schools. Is there another option?

Yes, Give us a call and we will work with you to schedule a ground school that works for your schedule.

Can I start the S3P without any previous skydives?

At Skydive Suffolk it is required to first complete a Level one tandem skydive.

How many jumps can I make in a day?

As many as you’re ready for! Of course weather and instructor permitting.

What are the weather conditions that would stop me from jumping?

High winds and clouds are the most common weather conditions that limit skydiving. Student wind limits are 14mph. Some solo training jumps require different minimum exit altitudes. Clouds can sometimes keep us on the ground if they are too low.

Military Transition

Are you military free fall qualified? Do you want to jump with less stress?

Skydive Suffolk offers a transition package for you! The transition includes 2 jumps, rig rentals, 2 lift tickets with a qualified USPA instructor and your USPA A license. Cost for the transition is $392.
